chicago trip

well we had a fun weekend last weekend. ConAgra flew us out to Chicago for the weekend to meet with them and a real estate agent to look around the cities again and have some fun. When we got there we went to pick up our rental car which was the cheapest one we could find so we weren't expecting much but we ended up getting a VOLVO! We were very surprised and so spoiled.

ConAgra people took us out to dinner at a place called Hugo's Frog Bar and Fish House (I got some yummy lobster) in Naperville and talked to us about life around Chicago. It was fun and filling. The next day we went out with a real estate agent to see if we could find a suburb we could see ourselves living in. It was funny because she drove us around in her minivan, you would think minivan drivers would be slow. . . not this one, she was crazy. We were a bit scared.

For the next night we stayed in the city at the Allerton Hotel up on the 22nd floor! It was a neat view and we got to see what it's like to be in the city at night when you are trying to sleep. . . it's not great, but I've heard worse.

The funniest thing was in the morning there was a helicopter flying outside our window. We don't know what that was for. While we were in the city ConAgra got us some tickets to see Blue Man! I had seen them before in Vegas like three years ago but Ben had never seen them. We wanted to try to go see them over this summer but didn't get to so it was great! We had a great time and we walked the 6 miles back to the hotel since it was a nice night. Super workout.

On Sunday we went to church at the only family ward that was not a Spanish/singles/student ward and it turned out that one of the speakers was, or course, a girl Ben had gone to high school with. It's funny, wherever we go we find one. So we had an instant friend to talk to about the area and where to look for housing if we wanted to live there.
Then we took back our fantastic car and flew back to lovely Ithaca. ConAgra had us pretty sold all the way until Monday when Ben went to a Johnson and Johnson briefing and now he likes them too so we are still unsure about where we will end up. But the options right now are Chicago, Philadelphia, or Jacksonville Florida. We'll see what else looks enticing over the next month or so.

Wahoo for the Jones'! We are excited for your upcoming career choices. Thats cool that ConAgra is rolling out the red carpet and letting you take a few steps on it. What companies are in Philly and Jacksonville? I still need to get your info for a position at Dell. One of the sisters in our ward works in HR.
