Chicago experiences

So we are settling in to this new place pretty well. We have found some new things and have enjoyed the summer. Deanna came into town and her friend Amy and we got to do all sorts of tourist things again. Really there is so much to do here that every time someone comes to visit us we do totally different things. This time we went to the Sears Tower Observation Deck and it was really amazing! You can see all around forever and from one of the windows we could see three states. This picture is of the area of town we live in. Our building is actually in there on the far right but it would be really hard to point out without. . .pointing. And here is a lovely engagement picture of Deanna and I :P. I looked through the pictures though and I don't have one on our camera with Amy or Ben in it, they really were there. It was a lot of fun. There were windows on all sides and walls behind us with all kinds of Chicago facts throughout the ages, we learned so much. We had quite a long day full of sights and good pizza and an architecture tour on the Chicago River. There are really neat buildings on the water and also a lot of bugs. I guess that's what you get at the end of summer though. Here are the Marina Towers.
You might recognize them from the Allstate commercial from a few years ago (seen below)

We also got to see the fireworks at Navy Pier. They are so awesome!!! It's like the Forth of July except that it's set to music, but not patriotic slow music, no no, it's Justin Timberlake and Kanye West and some techno thrown in there and all of the fireworks are coming so fast right on the beat and when there is some shaker sound on the music there comes a sparkly firework all shimmery in the sky. It was really fun, way better than just listening to the after sounds of the fireworks from our apartment.

We had such a good time having Amy and Dee here, it was a fun weekend! And now they have experienced the fun of the H&M store which means I have effectively ruined them completely, so it was a successful trip.
